Petzl Quark Adze Ice Axe

Petzl Quark Adze is a head-shaped ice ax for ice climbing and technical mountaineering. It is a very versatile ice ax thanks to its modular construction and the blade that adapts to any type of ice, tightening at the tip for better penetration.

Compared to the 2017 version, the 2018 version has a plastic insert inserted between the head and the handle that absorbs the vibrations and prevents the blade from being able to sport a wire from the seat. The handle, moreover, on this version is hydroformed thus making the grip of the ice ax much more ergonomic and therefore safer.

Trigrest and Griprest make the Quark handle very ergonomic and the handle comfortable and secure; used with the piolet cane technique the end of the handle penetrates the snow perfectly. In this regard Petzl has decided to make the Griprest mobile in such a way as to be able to raise it to use the ice ax as a stick ice ax and instead lower it to have the support of the hand during climbing.
