These vintage K2 Big Kahuna skis first hit the market in 1994 and received high remarks from ski magazine testers despite their lack of sidecut from the new radical designs at the time. In ‘94, Wayne Eggum, a K2 representative reported to Deseret News, “What we wanted was a ski that works under all conditions . . . and response tells us we’ve done that. We realize that after a few powder runs a skier’s got to hit packed. We’ve sold out of the ski already. I wish I had another 500 pair right now,” said Eggum.
These all-mountain rippers are soft enough to ski a little lazy at times but will hold up well when you’re ready to charge. They also perform well in crud and variable conditions. They have great dampening characteristics that help keep you in control at all times. This is a big bold ski that’s ready for it all. These skis would make great wall art. If you plan on resurrecting these skis to rip once again we’d recommend swapping out the bindings for something a little more modern as the bindings likely are no longer safe and a shop probably won’t work on them.

Disclaimer of Warranties:
For previously owned and used skis and bindings:
- Equipment is sold “as is”
- The buyer assumes all risk as to the quality and performance of the equipment
Special Safety Notice for Bindings: We urge you to take your boots and bindings to a shop certified by the bindings manufacturer to have a function check. The majority of shops will charge for this service. Even though we may, by request, check to see if a binding should fit your boot sole length, such an adjustment and fit check does not verify that the bindings will release properly with your boot. Only a certified shop can do this, with the user’s boots present.
