The Völkl Rise Above 88 mm is the most versatile ski mountaineering ski in the Völkl ski mountaineering range. In fact, it gives its best in both uphill and downhill performance: it’s light and agile when climbing and very stable on the descent, and it can adapt to all types of snow.

The ski has a multilayer wood core with Isocore, which ensures low weight (1,186 g for 170 cm length), stability and fluidity.

The spatula (i.e. the tail of the ski) is extremely durable and offers exceptional performance especially in wind-swept snow conditions.
The shovel together with the skid (the central part of the ski) and the tip are integral parts of the 3D radius technology: 3 radii of curvature in one ski! In fact, this ski ensures dream performance both in long, wide turns in powder snow and in narrow passages where great agility is required.

Finally, the sidecut geometry offers maximum liveliness and manoeuvrability on narrow passages, while the full sidewall ensures stability and strength. The combination of a more pronounced shaping under the boot and a more moderate shaping in the shovel and tail areas allows for increased control and requires less effort even during tours when carrying heavy loads.
